Dog Bites and Personal Injury

It has been estimated that 2 percent of the American population (or 4.7 million people) are bitten by feral or domesticated dogs annually. Injuries sustained from dog bites range from mild to fatal. Fatalities from dog bites have increased from 17 in the 1990s to 26 in the 2000s. Moreover, 77 percent of dog bites are from the pets of family or friends, while 50 percent of bites occur on the dog owner’s property.
